El Guincho - Tenerife

El Guincho is only 2 km away from the village of Garachico which is well known for its natural seawater swimming pools ( there is a public seawater  swimming pool too ) Excellent restaurants, serving first class seafood , are easy to find. The village with its little harbour, small cobblestoned streets and shaded squares beams a sensation of peace and tranquillity. Lovely walks lead you through the banana plantations to the old harbour from where,  till the fifties, bananas were loaded directly onto the ships. Nowadays it´s a good place to go fishing but not so much for swimming due to the strong waves. You can reach the bay of El Guincho on foot as well. A new bicycle and pedestrian path will bring you to Icod de los Vinos, where you can visit the famous Dragon tree.
