El Tanque - Romantic mountain village - ideal as a starting point for hiking tours

El Tanque is a quiet little village in the mountains of Teno. It is situated at 600 m above the sea level and is a perfect starting point for trekking and hiking tours. Agriculture is the main economic activity in the area where potatoes and different kinds of corn are grown on terrace fields. Not far from the town you can find a camel farm (Camello Park) - a pleasant place to visit  and enjoy the landscape while riding a camel. There are some shops and restaurants in town, but you can´t do without a car.
