Las Americas - tourist center south of Tenerife

As Playa de las Americas and Los Christianos have merged together, we'll give one description for both locations because it does not matter if you live in Los Cristianos or Playa de la Americas. The typical tourist resort of Los Christianos is lying on the sunny southern coast of Tenerife. The village was built in the last 30 years out of a stony desert, where it hardly ever rains. Nowhere on the Island there are more  hours of sunshine than here and in Playa de las Americas. Even today, the village is growing steadily as  buildings are being erected on the outskirts which is unnoticed by the tourists who'll live near the coast.

Los Christianos has got a beautiful sandy beach and you can go for long walks over the promenade that streches out to Playa de las Americas. There are lots of opportunities to relax over a beer and some food in the many bars and restaurants.
